🌟 Celebrate Labor Day with a Fresh Start!

Hi Reader,

Can you believe it’s Labor Day Weekend? Summer has flown by, and now we’ll be diving back into the fun routines and activities of the school year!

Lately, I’ve chatted with friends—both old and new—and I’ve heard so many say, “I can’t wait for school to start so we can get back to some kind of schedule.” I totally get that!

Even though we all cherish those lazy days of vacation and relaxation, it can start to feel a bit repetitive after a while. You might find yourself asking, “What have I actually done today?”

Here’s a little quirk about me: while I absolutely love spending time with family and friends and soaking up the “freedom” of summer, I also really enjoy having a schedule.

Maybe you’re like me and find joy in being productive. I like to tell my time what to do because, honestly, when I don’t, I often end up wondering where the day went!

So, let's embrace the history of Labor Day and we wrap up summer and how it can inspire us to kick off the new season with a fresh start!

Labor Day, celebrated on the first Monday in September, began in the late 1800s to honor the hardworking folks who fought for better conditions and fair wages. It became a federal holiday in 1894, and today, it reminds us of the importance of hard work and finding balance in our lives.

Each year, Labor Day is a fantastic opportunity to pause and think about how we can make our lives a bit easier. It’s all about setting ourselves up for success! 🚀

Let’s Apply the Spirit of Labor to Our Goals:

  1. Take a Look Around: 🏠 How does your home feel these days? Is clutter getting in the way? Let’s tackle that together!
  2. Create Simple Systems: 🗂️ Start small! Pick one area—maybe a closet or a kitchen drawer—and set up a system that makes it easy to keep things tidy.
  3. Prioritize Your Tasks: 📅 Just like workers organize their days, you can create a weekly schedule that includes time for organizing and decluttering. It’ll make a world of difference!
  4. Get the Family Involved: 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Make organization a fun family project! Everyone can pitch in, and it’s a great way to teach kids valuable skills while spending time together.
  5. Celebrate Your Wins: 🎊 Every little step counts! Take a moment to celebrate your progress, no matter how small. You’re doing amazing things!

Get Well Flowers

Hi Reader, I hope this email finds you all in good spirits! As we are entering the last week of October, I wanted to share something personal that has been on my mind lately: unexpected health setbacks. Recently, I faced a little bump in the road that reminded me just how important it is to have a supportive home environment and family around us. When I had to take time to rest and focus on my recovery, I realized how much my organized home systems helped me. With everything in its place, I...

Home decorated for Halloween

Hi Reader, I hope you’re doing well! In my neighborhood, we’re already seeing Halloween decorations popping up everywhere! 🎃 It’s such a fun time of year, but it also means the holiday season is just around the corner. I don’t know about you, but every time I pull out those spooky decorations, I find myself wandering into the attic or storage areas, thinking, “Wow, I really need to clean this place out!” Sound familiar? Let’s be honest—life gets busy, and it’s easy to let clutter pile up. But...

Boone North Carolina, what would you truly miss if everything were swept away

Hi Reader, I hope this email finds you all safe and well. In my beautiful state of North Carolina, this past week has been filled with news of devastation and destruction from Hurricane Helene. So many images of homes, nature, roads just that were gone in an instant. Having spent the majority of my life here (especially my college years at Appalachian State University in Boone) I’ve always cherished the mountains and the serenity they bring. Seeing these majestic places and the wonderful,...
